Our Mission

 

Continuo empowers young musicians to establish meaningful relationships with their communities through innovative performance and mentorship, redefining the roles of performer and audience. 

 

About

 

Founded in 2018, Continuo, (formerly known as Greater Boston Music Outreach) offers young musicians the opportunities and mentorship to share their music with new audiences and explore the powerful intersection of classical music and community leadership. Continuo is entirely student-run, forming a musical community of students from all over Massachusetts—including local high schools, New England Conservatory, Harvard, Northeastern, and Boston University.

 

Rising high school through college students are welcome to apply!

 

Opportunities through Continuo vary in experience and commitment. Programs are always adapting to respond to the needs of the community and our musicians. Our partner sites include Boston Children’s Museum, Conservatory Lab Charter School, Community Centers of Brookline, Goddard House, Bridge Boston, and more! Current offerings are listed below:

SUN-JUNG YUM

Director of Marketing & Finance

Sun-Jung is a rising sophomore at Harvard University and the Director of Marketing & Finance. She picked up the viola in 3rd grade and performed with the Boston Youth Symphony for four years. She founded Continuo with 6 others immediately after From the Top’s CDAL was put on hiatus. She loves healthy food and enjoys working out and spending time at cafés!

MAIA ALBERTS

Director of Operations

Maia is a rising sophomore at Harvard University and the Director of Operations. She has been playing the piano since she was four years old. She lived in Hong Kong for fourteen years, and after moving to the US, she studied at New England Conservatory Prep. In her free time, Maia loves reading, swimming, running, and gallivanting around the great outdoors.

MAI NGUYEN

Director of Development

Mai is a rising freshman at Harvard University and the Director of Deelopment. She has played flute with the Boston Youth Symphony and NEC’s Youth Philharmonic, and has also attended BU’s Tanglewood Institute and the Vancouver Symphony’s Orchestral Institute. Besides music, Mai enjoys painting, cooking, and writing.
